SafeSport
Moose Youth Hockey Association is pleased to participate in the SafeSport Initiative as outlined by Minnesota Hockey and USA Hockey. We are committed to ensuring that all of our hockey participants are given opportunities in an environment which is free from any abuse and misconduct. Key elements of the SafeSport Initiative encompass procedures and processes designed to protect participant's physical, emotional, and social development.
Moose Youth Hockey Association SafeSport Program outlines steps to address and prevent the following types of abuse and misconduct:
- Sexual Abuse
- Physical Abuse
- Emotional Abuse
- Bullying, Threats, and Harassment
- Hazing
Moose Youth Hockey Association has zero tolerance for any abuse and misconduct. If any Moose Youth Hockey Association member witnesses or has knowledge of any such activity, he or she has a responsibility to report the information to the Moose Youth Hockey Association SafeSport Coordinator.
Coaches, team representatives, locker room monitors, and those working the penalty boxes must complete the SafeSport training. Once you have completed your SafeSport Certification, please submit a copy of your certificate to the SafeSport Coordinator.
SafeSport Training Requirements
There are three modules that must be completed to become SafeSport trained:
- Sexual Misconduct Awareness Education
- Emotional and Physical Misconduct
- Mandatory Reporting
